Trauma does not end the moment someone reaches safety. For survivors, it often continues to surface in courtrooms, therapy sessions, shelters, medical appointments, and everyday moments—sometimes appearing as panic, shutdown, forgetfulness, emotional overwhelm, or dysregulation, and too often misunderstood as instability or a lack of credibility. Join us for this timely webinar exploring somatic (body-based) tools for crisis response and trauma-informed care. Together, we’ll unpack what happens mentally, emotionally, and physiologically during a trauma response, why felt safety matters, and practical ways to foster greater calm and regulation during moments of distress. We are honored to be joined by Iona Singleton, whose expertise in trauma, crisis response, and nervous system healing will offer valuable insight for attorneys, advocates, therapists, law enforcement professionals, case managers, and service providers seeking to better support survivors—and themselves. About Iona Singleton Iona Singleton is a psychologist, somatic practitioner, and educator specialising in trauma, crisis response, and nervous system healing. She works across private and community mental health settings, supporting survivors and individuals navigating high-pressure and trauma-exposed environments. Her work is informed by frontline experience at OnPoint NYC, one of New York City’s leading harm reduction centers, where she has supported individuals experiencing trauma, substance use, homelessness, grief, and crisis. Alongside this, she works with Newus Clinic Psychological Services in London and internationally with Backline Care. Iona is currently completing her doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Existential Psychotherapy at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling, where she teaches trauma, attachment, and human development.
